Don’t skip the basics.

One good friend in the gym once advised me –‘never skip the basics.’ And I really appreciate his advice even today. The basic exercises are really good, they help you improve your stamina to lift heavy weights, makes your body flexible, reduces the straining of muscles and most important one is it helps to maintain a good shape.

Basic exercises which you can also practice for warm-ups includes-

 Push-ups.

 Pull-ups.

Surya-namaskar – Hindu Pushups.

Body weight Squats.

Jumping and dynamic stretching.

I have seen people in gym, rushing towards the weight as soon as they arrive at gym, while others just tie up their shoe laces and hit the treadmills. I understand that you don’t have enough time. But by doing so you are fooling yourself, because without warm-ups, your body won’t get heated up and your stamina want last for long time. Warm-ups help to prepare you mentally and physically for the heavy workouts.

Most of the people skips these because they think, it’s useless and bit difficult. Sometimes living also becomes difficult, so do you quit living right? Then why skip these. You might not able to do more than 5 push-ups or pull-ups first day, but that is exactly ok. Increase the reps gradually day by day. Every day increase your reps by 2,5 or 10 according to your capacity. And trust me one day you would take a competition with your fellow gym coach J

Have you ever experienced that, it was difficult to gain up all the energy and stamina after a gap of a week or month between your workouts. It may take you a week or two to start lifting heavy. But If you practice this warm-up regularly, you can gear up again very soon, just in 2-3 days. Doing these warm-up exercises daily for 15 minutes will always keep you boosted and will also help you in maintaining a good posture. So never-ever skip the basics.
